Season of Joy: Day 10

Christmas Wish Lists

I had Jessie and Jonathan work on their Christmas wish lists for me.  Their lists were as different as they are.  Jonathan gave me a list of games that he wanted.  Jess gave me a more diversified list with some very interesting and quirky items.  I can't believe that she asked for legos!  Not too long ago, we donated buckets of legos!

I love my kids... they make me smile.

Season of Joy: Day 9

Dressed and Ready for the Progressive Insurance Party

We went to Fred's Christmas party last night.  We go to Fred's Christmas party every year.  They are so boring and a serious beating, but we have never missed one yet.  We managed to win a prize this year.  A $50 gift card to On the Border/Chili's/Maggiano's.  At least we won a date night out of it.

Season of Joy: Day 8

Christmas Scents

I am loving the smells of Christmas candles at my house.  I was sad to say goodbye to Thanksgiving and my favorite pumpkin spice candle.  It ran its course just as November came to a close.  Now we are working on this yummy "Christmas Treats" scented candle.  It isn't nearly as yummiful as pumpkin, but it will certainly work.  Yankee Candle is our favorite (When I say our - I really mean mine.  Everyone else is just along for the ride.)  I have a "scensitive" noggin' - pun intended - so I have to be careful on which scents I choose.  It can't be too strong and it pretty much has to be a "food" scent.  Other than that, I just love the smell of Christmas!

Season of Joy: Day 7

Marketing's "Snowman"

Our Party Committee is on a budget, so they decided that a no-cost, fun activity would be to have each department decorate a snowman.  Marketing donated the paper to the committee and they drew out snowmen for each department to work with.  The object was for each team to decorate their snowman and hang them in the hallway outside the break room.  Many of the teams used some of our new brand launches for their inspiration and we chose to do the same.  Yes, our "snowman" is computer generated.  However, if you turn him over, you will find the original snowman that we were given to work with.  Some teams think we cheated, but I think each department worked with the tools that they had available.   We just happened to have a Mac and an artist!

Season of Joy: Day 6

Jessie's Christmas Finery

Jessica's cutie patootie dress that she has to wear this season.  She wore it for the first time last night at Young Women's in Excellence.  Hopefully, she'll get to wear it a couple of more times this December.  It is black, so she can really wear it any time.  It looked so pretty on her, but of course, she was camera shy.

Season of Joy: Day 5

The Santa Music Box

This little Santa Claus is actually a music box that plays We Wish You a Merry Christmas in the most annoying way ever.  My mom had it at her house last year and Jonathan loved it.  Every time he walked by it, he had to wind it up and flip it open.  He loved it so much that she sent it home with him.  We listened to it for a little while before storing it for the year.  I had hoped Jonathan wouldn't remember his music box, but it was the first thing he asked about this season.  I want to go on record as saying that I HATE this Santa Claus music box, and my mom should really watch her back.  Paybacks will be coming her way.

Season of Joy: Day 4

Christmas Poinsettia

We have not decorated for Christmas yet, but we did buy a poinsettia last night while shopping (yet again) for a Christmas tree.  If you come to our house, we now have just a smidgen of holiday flair.  The rest is coming this weekend (I hope).
