Hello! It's me! I'm alive! I have been very busy. 2011 is shaping up to be quite the year for the Fortenberry's, let me tell you.
I have been enjoying my new church calling. It has re-energized me, but it definitely keeps busy. Fred and I are both committed to helping the kids with their ever-changing needs. Getting the kids the help they need is a huge priority for us. Lastly, I was very honored to receive a promotion at the beginning of the month. Just one of these commitments is huge, but put the three together and I was exhausted. All three of these endeavors are noble and righteous, but I was finding that I was trying to run faster than I had strength.
My migraine meds stopped working. Then, last week, I went home with a pounding headache and excruciating pain in my back. The pain in my back was muscular... STRESS... I'm sure.
Saturday was such a beautiful day, and I had an early morning massage followed by a manicure. Then, I indulged myself in a bike ride. After that, Jonathan and I played outside, and walked the dogs. I couldn't get enough of the beautiful sunshine. I had an epiphany while I was soaking up the sun over the weekend. I have to learn balance, so that I can enjoy all of these wonderful blessings in my life. I also have to remember to run at MY pace! I don't have to run at the world's pace.

B-O-M
I am doing a lot of goal setting and working on getting my life a little bit more organized. By organized I don't mean cleaning out closets and cabinets. It is more like calendaring and to do lists. One of my goals for 2011 is to read the Book of the Mormon by 3/15/11. I leave for New York on 3/16, so the timing is perfect.
I love reading the Book of Mormon, and I love how I feel when I am diligently reading. Last year, I read the Book of Mormon in two and a half months, so I know that my goal is one that I can achieve. And, by posting it here, I am now accountable.
Happy New Year!
